About
The British Embassy in Washington and our Consulates in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami & Orlando, New York, and San Francisco represent the UK Government in the United States.
What does the British Embassy do?
The Embassy and our other posts in the US work to develop and sustain the important and long-standing relationship between the UK and the USA. This involves dealing with a wide range of political, commercial, security and economic questions of interest to the UK and the US.What do British Consulates do?
British Consulates help to promote trade and investment between Britain and the USA. They also keep the Ambassador in touch with political, economic and other developments in their Consular districts. The Consuls are also responsible for the consular protection of British nationals who are temporary residents in, or visitors to, their consular district.
