Yammer, Inc. is an US enterprise social network service that was launched in 2008. It opened its first international office outside of San Francisco in the UK in 2011 with a move to Tech City in London where it opened its first European Headquarters. Having started in the UK with 3 people, the company has aggressively expanded now employing over 80 employees. In this video, George Ell, General Manager EMEA, Yammer, talks about the key considerations for Yammer when it decided to move to Europe, the benefits of being in the UK and the support they received from UKTI and partners to help them set-up their business in the UK.

Ambassador Westmacott: London’s Tech City is Booming!
On a recent visit to London, British Ambassador to the United States Sir Peter Westmacott stopped by Tech City in Hackney. The Ambassador met Tech City’s leaders and spoke to some of the young entrepreneurs who have been attracted there by a unique collaborative ecosystem that blends creativity and technological innovation. He also toured the new London offices of Yammer, a San Francisco-based enterprise social networking company. Yammer’s new digs will also house a research and development centre which the company chose to place in Tech City despite stiff competition from elsewhere.
